Privacy Policy

Overview

cromu is a crochet project management app. All your data is stored locally on your device. We do not operate any servers and do not collect, transmit, or store any personal information.

Information We Do NOT Collect

• We do not collect personal information (name, email, phone number, etc.)
• We do not require account creation or login
• We do not track your location
• We do not share your data with any third parties (other than the services described below)

Data Stored on Your Device

cromu stores the following data locally on your device only:

• Crochet project information (project names, counter values, yarn notes)
• Pattern data (text patterns, images, PDF files you import)
• App preferences (language, display settings, nickname)
• Profile photo (if you choose to set one)

This data never leaves your device. If you uninstall the app, all data is permanently deleted.

Device Permissions

cromu may request the following permissions:

• Photo Library / Storage: To select images for projects and patterns, and to save generated pixel art designs to your device gallery.
• Files: To import PDF or text pattern files from your device.

These permissions are requested only when you use the related features and can be revoked at any time through your device settings.

Third-Party Services

Google AdMob

cromu displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob. Google may collect certain information for ad personalization and delivery, including:

• Device identifiers (Advertising ID)
• General location (IP-based, not precise GPS)
• App usage data related to ad interactions

Google's data collection is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

You can opt out of personalized advertising through your device settings:

• Android: Settings > Google > Ads > Opt out of Ads Personalization
• iOS: Settings > Privacy > Apple Advertising > Turn off Personalized Ads

Google Firebase Analytics

cromu uses Google Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used and to improve the user experience. This service collects:

• Screen views and feature usage events (e.g., project creation, tool usage)
• App language setting
• General device information (device model, OS version)

Firebase Analytics does NOT collect:

• Personal information (name, email, etc.)
• Your crochet project content, patterns, or yarn notes
• Search queries or text you enter

You can disable analytics data collection at any time in the app: Settings > Usage data collection (toggle off).

Google's data collection is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

Google Firebase Crashlytics

cromu uses Google Firebase Crashlytics to detect and fix app crashes, improving app stability. This service automatically collects:

• Crash logs and stack traces
• Device state at the time of crash (memory usage, disk space, battery level)
• Device information (model, OS version, orientation)
• A random installation identifier (Crashlytics Installation UUID)

Crashlytics does NOT collect:

• Personal information (name, email, etc.)
• Your crochet project content, patterns, or yarn notes
• Location data

This data is used solely for diagnosing and fixing technical issues. Google's data collection is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

Children's Privacy

cromu is not specifically directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. The ads displayed are standard Google AdMob ads and are subject to Google's policies.

Data Security

Since all data is stored locally on your device, it is protected by your device's security measures (screen lock, encryption, etc.). We do not transmit any data over the internet other than data handled by Google AdMob, Firebase Analytics, and Firebase Crashlytics as described above.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected with an updated effective date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
